DO'S & DON'TS WHILE USING GLASSWARE'S
While applying heat source ensure constant monitoring of vessels at all times and adjust heat source at regular intervals based on liquid levels. Vessel may crack or explode due to dryness if the liquid has evaporated during the heating process.
MedLab glassware can withstand extreme temperatures. However, sudden temperature changes may cause the vessel to break. Hence caution is required when removing glassware from a heat source and placing it on a surface.
Cooling process should be gradual to avoid breakage or cracks.
Ensure the vessels are free from any scratches before the thermal treatment.
Beyond the recommended safe limit glassware should not be used either under vacuum or pressure.
When working with glassware subjected to vacuum or pressure it is advisable to use a safety screen.
Ground joints and stopcocks are to be kept completely free from dirt. After use ground glass joints should be separated and kept lubricant free.
